Braving the heat and the bees, MELA members swarmed to Burlington, Wisconsin for an inspiring tour of Northwind Perennial Farm by co-owner & grower, Roy Diblik.  Roy, who enthralled people during the 2005 MELA Symposium with his talk on plant communities, pointed out perennial  plant partnerships that  for long-term health and maintenance in the garden. 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Afterwards, we had a surprise visit, complete with compost-making demonstration, by Bob Posthuma of Greater Earth Organics (left).  He and MELA Board Member, Lynn Bement, are both Certified Soil Foodweb Advisors.
