A Very Special Conference
In a historic first collaboration, MELA is co-sponsoring a conference with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) on Friday, October 26, from 9:00 to 3:00. "Towards Sustainability: Designing Tomorrow's Landscape Today" will feature some of the area's most knowledgeable and intriguing speakers on subjects with which we're all deeply concerned. It Was a Picnic!
MELA members and friends had a great time at the MELA picnic at the Chicago Center for Green Technology. It was very successful. We had 44 attendees and gained four new members. We networked, learned, and ate ourselves silly.

If you missed the picnic, you also missed a chance to see the Chicago Center for Green Technology. It's worth a special visit. CCGTis located at 445 North Sacramento Boulevard in Chicago and is open to the public Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Center is closed on Sunday. Visitors are welcome to explore the public areas of the building and campus. Brochures for self-guided tours are available at the building.
